As you gain momentum and confidence you will begin to see an increase in your self-esteem and watch your life transform before your eyes.
We will use the new understandings of mental and emotional blocks discovered in the Initial Intensive to inform our individual sessions better as you work to practice your new skills.
At this point you may want to add group therapy or an Advanced Intensive into your regimen if time is of the essence and you enjoyed the intensive format.
As you progress we will titrate our sessions and eventually work into a maintenance phase. As you continue to meet your goals, we are slowly phasing out of treatment, ensuring you won’t become codependent on treatment and can get on with enjoying your freshly transformed life.
Once we’ve scheduled your first appointment, we will also schedule your Initial Intensive. This will kick start your transformation by providing an in-depth understanding of the model we will use to move you into a higher level of healing.
You also probably grew up in a home where your parents did their best, but for whatever reason, they couldn’t see you and tend to you the way you deserved. When trying to connect with people, you might be nervous because they are “normal,” and for some reason, you feel like you aren’t. And what even is a healthy relationship? Oh, and you are also probably a Millennial or Gen X.
While interviewing therapists, you are listening for someone who knows who they are, the light and the dark, because deep down, you are also seeking to know these depths of yourself. You are expecting to work with someone who knows what they are doing. You also may have worked with other therapists in the past but found that there wasn’t any change happening. You’re seeking to be challenged and transformed, not just seeking a conversation with a friendly face.
You are a seeker—an explorer at heart. You are ready to make a change but aren’t sure how to get there. You are probably a wounded healer, a creative entrepreneur, an expert in your craft, and/or a mother seeking a deeper connection with your children than the one you had growing up. You view this work as an investment in yourself and the generation that follows.
So this part is essential. I greatly advocate prioritizing the right fit for therapy rather than getting as many clients as possible. I intentionally maintain a small caseload so that I can provide high-tier services and, as a result, my clients make progress.

This work is my passion because I’ve lived it. I’ve experienced pain, heartbreak, and life-giving freedom from facing your past and discovering your authentic self. I was raised in a home with lots of pain and untreated mental health issues that led to childhood trauma. I use Pia Mellody’s model of Developmental Immaturity as a map to help you get access to the tools you need to balance your present and heal your inner child so that you can finish unfinished business from childhood. I understand my clients through a psychodynamic lens and utilize person-centered, experiential, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to support clients in making active progress in treatment.
How long does trauma therapy take?
This one, like most answers in therapy, is it depends. However, with my approach, most clients work with me for 3-5 years, give or take. This is incredibly individualized for each person and what they are looking for. But my approach isn’t a quick bandaid. It's a significant overhaul for folks who are really looking for long-lasting change. That doesn’t come in a 6-8 session package; it comes with a long-term therapeutic relationship.
How can trauma therapy help me?
Again, it depends. But the biggest thing I have found for my clients is that it helps them uncover who they are before the trauma strips away their safety. It also helps you feel safer in your body. Regarding what this looks like for you, it’s tough to say without knowing your story. But I encourage you to think, what symptoms brought you to this page? What would life be like with more self-compassion and self-understanding without those symptoms?
Does trauma therapy make you feel worse?
This is a common question, and it’s important. I’ve been very upfront with my clients that my approach will lead to more pain as we face whatever has been avoided before there is relief from symptoms. Either way, your body is carrying this pain. With therapy, we just give the pain a voice and allow it to flow out to be transformed.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not accept insurance. However, I can provide a superbill, which some insurance companies will reimburse you for. More info on fees here.
